Stell Tubes Used In BBC1 Show Interior Design Masters With Alan Carr

Stell tubes have appeared on an episode of BBC1 show Interior Design Masters With Alan Carr.

The series, which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer, sees 10 up and coming interior designers take part in weekly challenges to compete for a contract to transform a luxury hotel apartment in Cornwall.

Comedian Alan Carr hosts the show, with design expert and former Editor of Elle Decoration Michelle Ogundehin judging.

The Series 3, Episode 3 programme involves the designers going ‘Back to School’ to Gordano Secondary School near Bristol. There they work in teams to transform four tired looking student common rooms – and adjoining head of house offices – into contemporary spaces with strong visual identities.

Interior designers Banjo Beale and Molly Coath partner up and design their common room turning it into a sustainable fox’s den. A key feature is a sustainable concertina paper seating area laid out in the middle of the room, surrounded by colour blocked areas zoned off with giant replaceable cardboard screens and dividers/partitions that students can doodle on.

You can see the bundles of Stell tubes being carried into the building around 14 minutes into the episode, appearing again at 15 minutes and then again in the main presentation of the finished design at around 40 minutes in. Our tubes are used to create the dividers/partitions.

Banjo, a cheesemonger and marketer from the Isle of Mull later goes on to win the series.

Stell Managing Director Lee Skelton says: “Banjo got in touch with us to order the tubes for the show and we were delighted to see them feature in the main design. What a great and innovative use of Stell tubes that the students at Gordano School can enjoy for years to come.”
